Setting Up 2FA on WPS Cloud
Setting up multi-factor authentication for WPS Cloud is an essential step to enhance the security of your account and protect your documents from unauthorized access.
mobile app using your registered credentials.
After signing in, go to the Account Settings area.
Look for the settings gear icon near your profile picture and choose either Security Settings or Account Management from the options presented.
In the Security Settings area, look for an option labeled Multi Factor Authentication or 2FA.
Click on Enable or Set Up to start the configuration.
The system will ask you to select how you’d like to receive your one-time verification codes.
For maximum security, we strongly advise using a dedicated authenticator app like Authy, Google Authenticator, or Microsoft Authenticator.
Such applications produce dynamic codes that update every 30 seconds without needing cellular data or text messages, greatly improving protection.
After selecting the authenticator app option, you will see a QR code displayed on the screen.
Launch your authenticator application on your mobile device, select "Add Account" or "Scan Barcode," and point your camera at the QR code on screen.
The app will then generate a six digit code that corresponds to your WPS Cloud account.
Paste the six-digit number from your authenticator app into the confirmation field and click Verify to finalize the process.
It is crucial to save the backup codes provided during this process.
These codes are single use and can be used to regain access to your account if you lose access to your authenticator app or phone.
Download or print these backup codes and store them in a secure location, wps下载 such as a locked drawer or encrypted digital vault.
Avoid keeping backup codes in note apps, email drafts, or cloud folders linked to your account.
Once the authenticator app is linked and verified, multi factor authentication will be active for your WPS Cloud account.
After entering your password, a prompt will require the time-sensitive code from your authenticator app for verification.
You may also be given the option to remember the device for 30 days to avoid repeated two step verification on trusted devices.
For added security, consider disabling SMS based authentication if it is offered as an alternative.
SIM swapping allows criminals to receive your SMS codes — authenticator apps eliminate this risk entirely.
Never leave your phone unlocked — enable fingerprint, face ID, or a strong numeric passcode to protect your authenticator app.
Regularly check the list of logged-in devices and active sessions under Security Settings.
Any unrecognized access should trigger immediate logout and a password reset as a precaution.
Keep your authenticator app updated and ensure your phone’s operating system is current to benefit from the latest security patches.
Activating MFA creates a powerful barrier against hackers trying to steal your cloud documents.
This small additional step provides a powerful defense against common cyber threats and helps ensure that your personal and professional documents remain private and secure
